A devastating fire tore through a crowded bar during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Crans-Montana, leaving at least 40 people dead and around 100 others injured, many of them seriously, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. at Le Constellation, a popular bar located in the upscale ski resort town in the Valais canton.
The venue was packed with revelers celebrating the arrival of the New Year when the fire broke out, triggering panic and a chaotic rush for exits.
