JUST IN: Relative of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt Taken Into ICE Custody

Bruna Caroline Ferreira — the mother of White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt’s nephew — has been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to multiple reports.

Ferreira, originally from Brazil, was arrested on November 12 in Revere, Massachusetts. ICE officials claim she overstayed her B-2 tourist visa by 26 years, stating that the visa expired in 1999. She is currently being held at the South Louisiana ICE Processing Center while facing potential removal proceedings.

Ferreira’s attorney disputes the Department of Homeland Security’s allegations, arguing that she entered the U.S. legally as a child and previously held protection under the DACA program. He also denies ICE claims that she has a prior arrest record, insisting she has no criminal history and is actively working toward obtaining a green card.

Family members say their primary concern is the well-being of her 11-year-old son, who currently lives with his father — Karoline Leavitt’s brother — and has been under his care since birth.

The arrest has sparked political attention and public debate, as it directly involves the family of the current White House press secretary. Many observers note that the situation raises new questions about the administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement tactics
