Trump sends cryptic 4-word warning after Zohran Mamdani’s NYC mayoral win

In a stunning political upset, Zohran Mamdani, 34, has been elected New York City’s next mayor, defeating former governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa in a landslide. Garnering over 1.03 million votes, Mamdani not only surpassed his rivals’ combined total but also made history as the city’s first Muslim mayor and the first of South Asian heritage to hold the position.
Even before Election Day, tensions between the progressive Mamdani and President Donald Trumpwere already high. Trump, who has long considered New York his “first home,” dismissed Mamdani’s candidacy as “inconceivable,” labeling him “a pure communist.” Ahead of the vote, Trump warned via Truth Social that he would withhold federal funding from the city if Mamdani won, urging voters to support Cuomo instead.
Following the city’s highest voter turnout in over fifty years—more than two million ballots cast—Mamdani took the stage on Tuesday, November 4, to deliver a fiery victory speech. “New York will remain a city of immigrants—built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, led by an immigrant,” he declared. Then, addressing the former president directly, he added: “Donald Trump, since I know you’re watching, I have four words for you: turn the volume up.”
