Hooked since 12, betrayed by his own nan, and torn between love for his dad and fear of losing his grandmother — Freddy Brazier’s heartbreaking confession is as raw as it gets
Jeff Brazier’s youngest son Freddy has shared a raw and emotional account of his battle with addiction, revealing he first began smoking at just 12 years old.
The 20-year-old aspiring model admitted, “I’ve been to rehab, I’ve been sectioned, I’ve had manic episodes. It’s been a real journey and a tough one.” He explained that his turbulent relationship with his dad Jeff stemmed partly from his fear of losing his grandmother, Jackiey Budden — the mother of his late mum, Jade Goody. “I felt like if I didn’t prioritise my nan, she might kill herself. That thought stayed with me for so long that I pushed my dad away and stayed at hers for months,” he revealed.
In a shocking admission, Freddy also said it was his grandmother who first introduced him to cannabis. “My nan was definitely the person who not only introduced me to weed but got me hooked,” he claimed
Despite the painful past, Freddy and Jeff appear to be reconnecting. Recently, Freddy posted a heartfelt message after watching his dad perform in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical. “I just love watching my dad at work, smiling and having fun. It makes me smile,” he wrote.
Earlier this year, Jeff even launched legal action to limit Freddy’s time with Jackiey over concerns about his wellbeing. But Freddy later moved in with his nan, sparking further tensions. Now, however, he has revealed plans to attend rehab in Spain, hoping to finally quit smoking and repair family bonds.
“I want to be clean, happy, and have a healthy relationship with both my Nana and my father,” Freddy said, signalling a new chapter in his turbulent young life.
