The country music star, whose participation was confirmed only weeks prior, expressed her desire to “unite” the nation under the second Trump administration, transcending political divides. Many of Trump’s pledges, including criminal justice reform and border security, enjoy bipartisan backing in various polls. This context likely influenced Underwood, who has previously criticized the President-elect, to participate in this occasion.

She was among a diverse group of performers at the inaugural events. Notably, rapper Snoop Dogg, a vocal critic of Trump, entertained at the pre-inaugural ball, spinning popular tracks such as “Drop it Like it’s Hot” and “Nothing but a ‘G’ Thang” from the DJ booth.

Former President Trump addressed the audience at the Rotunda, stating, “My most significant legacy will be that of a peacemaker and a unifier.” He went on to mention an agreement he reached with President Biden, as well as the leaders of Israel and Hamas, aimed at achieving a cease-fire. “The hostages will be returning to their families,” he affirmed.
