On October 4, 2024, Emma C. Brungardt, 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas, tragically died in a single-vehicle accident. The crash occurred on County Road 21, leaving five others injured, including her rodeo teammates.
Emma, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the others were treated at Citizens Medical Center. A sophomore at Colby College, Emma was passionate about rodeo, excelling in events like goat tying and team roping.
She was remembered for her kindness and positive energy. Emma was a two-time grand champion in the Kansas Wild Horse Youth Challenge. Her death is a great loss to her family, friends, and the rodeo community
