French showman Igor Bogdanoff passed away six days after the death of his twin brother Grichka, according to the French news agency AFP citing his agent.

“Surrounded by love, children, and family, he departed towards the light on Monday, January 3, 2022,” said the family in a statement relayed by the showman’s agent.

An attorney confirmed on BFMTV that Igor Bogdanoff died from complications following a COVID-19 infection. Both brothers, the channel noted, had not been vaccinated against the virus and had previously been hospitalized.

At the end of December 2021, the media reported the death of Grichka, also a well-known businessman in France.

The Bogdanoff brothers, whose father was born in Russia, became famous in France in the 1970s as hosts of popular science programs.

Born in August 1949 in the department of Gers to Yuri Mikhailovich Ostasenko-Bogdanov, a Russian artist of Tatar descent, and Maria Dolores Franciszka Kolowrat-Krakowska, their real names were Igor and Grigory.

In 1979, the brothers launched their first science fiction program, “Temps X” (Time X). They also hosted programs such as “Quatrième Dimension” (Fourth Dimension), “Prisonnier” (The Prisoner), “Envahisseurs” (Invaders), and others.

When the last note faded into a profound silence, the entire congregation slowly rose to their feet in tearful reverence. Within hours, clips of the duet flooded social media, fans calling it “the most divine and unforgettable tribute the Prince of Darkness could have ever received.”
