Matthew Dowd<\/strong>\u00a0has reportedly been fired from MSNBC after his on-air comments about\u00a0Charlie Kirk<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Multiple outlets including\u00a0Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Variety<\/em>\u00a0reported that the network fired Dowd, 64, after his comments on Wednesday, September 10.<\/p>\n

Dowd replied, \u201cHe\u2019s been one of the most divisive, especially divisive younger figures in this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech or sort of aimed at certain groups. And I always go back to, hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful actions. And I think that is the environment we are in. You can\u2019t stop with these sort of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words and not expect awful actions to take place. And that\u2019s the unfortunate environment we are in.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the wake of Dowd\u2019s comments, MSNBC president\u00a0Rebecca Kutler<\/strong>\u00a0shared an apology and called his comments \u201cinappropriate, insensitive and unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n
