English musician\u00a0Gavin Rossdale<\/span>\u00a0took to\u00a0Instagram<\/span>\u00a0shortly after the news broke to pay tribute to the heavy metal icon, writing: \u2018RIP OZZY \u2013 a great man -a true legend \u2013 I met Ozzy through Jack just a few times but he was so warm and kind and funny and I love that memory.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sending much love to his family at this difficult time. Rest in power.\u2019<\/p>\n

Osbourne\u2019s heartbroken wife Sharon replied to his post: \u2018Bless you.\u2019<\/p>\n

They said in a statement: \u2018It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved\u00a0Ozzy Osbourne<\/span>\u00a0has passed away this morning.<\/p>\n

\u2018He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.\u2019<\/p>\n

On Wednesday night fans started to spot Sharon\u2019s sweet responses.<\/p>\n

English musician Gavin Rossdale took to Instagram shortly after the news broke to pay tribute to the heavy metal icon. Sharon responded later in the day<\/p>\n

She replied to\u00a0BBC Radio 1 DJ Jack Saunders\u2019 message of support.<\/p>\n

\u2018Jack thank you for your tribute to Ozzy tonight, bless you,\u2019 she commented.<\/p>\n

Osbourne married Sharon, the daughter of the band\u2019s manager Don Arden, on July 4, 1982.<\/p>\n

After having daughter Aimee, now 38, in 1983, the couple went on to have Kelly, 37, in 1984, and Jack, 36, in 1985.<\/p>\n

Prior to his union with Sharon, Osbourne had been married to first wife Thelma Riley for 11 years, from 1971 until 1982.<\/p>\n

The pair had children Jessica and Louis together, whilst Osbourne also adopted Thelma\u2019s son Elliot.<\/p>\n

The rocker was able to bid an emotional farewell to his fans on stage this month as he reunited with his original Black Sabbath bandmates for the first time since 2005.<\/p>\n

\u2018You\u2019ve no idea how I feel \u2013 thank you from the bottom of my heart,\u2019 Osbourne told the crowd in his final speech.<\/p>\n

The music legend vowed, however, that it would be his final ever performance due to his health, having opened up about his battle with Parkinson\u2019s in 2020.<\/p>\n

The star was a titan of music who somehow survived controversies that would end the careers of many others, and weathered health problems that would leave most of us on our backs.<\/p>\n
