A promising future in public service was tragically cut short this week when\u00a021-year-old Eric Tarpinian-Jachym<\/strong>, a summer\u00a0congressional intern<\/strong>, was fatally shot in\u00a0Washington, D.C.<\/strong>\u00a0Authorities believe he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.<\/p>\n The incident occurred late Tuesday night,\u00a0July 1<\/strong>, near the\u00a0Walter E. Washington Convention Center<\/strong>, according to WWLP. Eric, a rising senior at the\u00a0University of Massachusetts Amherst<\/strong>, was found unconscious and later died in hospital.
