    During a press conference in the Oval Office, President Trump was inquired about his last conversation with Governor Newsom. \u201cIt was a day ago. I called him to inform him that he needs to improve; he is performing poorly, resulting in numerous deaths and potential fatalities,\u201d the president replied.<\/p>\n

    \u201cHad we not deployed the National Guard, and previously provided them with some extra assistance, Los Angeles would be engulfed in flames right now. The situation in Los Angeles would not differ much from what you witnessed occurring in California, and indeed, Los Angeles would be burning right now.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Governor Newsom subsequently took to X to assert that he had not received any phone call from the president. \u201cThere was no call. Not even a voicemail,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

    \u201cAmericans should be concerned that a President who is sending Marines to our streets is unaware of whom he is communicating with,\u201d Newsom, who submitted an emergency petition on Tuesday to prevent the deployments, remarked.<\/p>\n
