While guest hosting Today with Jenna & Friends on Tuesday, May 20, Guthrie, 53, shared that her son Charley, 8, asked her not to come to his school\u2019s party, leaving her good friend Jenna Bush Hager, 43, shocked.<\/p>\n

My kids are so embarrassed of me right now. And you know what I tell them? Loud moms build character, guys,\u201d says Guthrie.<\/p>\n
\u201cNow when I\u2019m listening to music, they turn it down when they get out of the car,\u201d Bush Hager explains. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Why are you embarrassed of me singing along to Gracie Abrams? They\u2019re like, \u2018Shhh!\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Guthrie says that \u201ceverything\u201d she does embarrasses her kids nowadays and notes that her son had actually been so embarrassed by her, he\u2019d made a surprising ask.<\/p>\n
