Elon Musk\u00a0has never been shy when it comes to his\u00a0feelings about having more kids\u00a0\u2014 and has reportedly spoken privately about wanting to produce a \u201clegion-level\u201d of children before the end of the world.<\/p>\n
According to a new report from the\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/em>,\u00a0Musk \u2014 a father of\u00a014 children,\u00a0whom he shares with four women \u2014 views his kids as a \u201clegion,\u201d a word that refers to a military unit used by the Roman army that consisted of\u00a0thousands of soldiers.<\/p>\n \u201cTo reach legion-level before the apocalypse, we will need to use surrogates,\u201d the SpaceX and Tesla CEO, 53, allegedly texted\u00a0Ashley St. Clair\u00a0while she was pregnant with their child, who\u00a0was born earlier this year. (In another nod to Rome, the newspaper reported that their\u00a0son is named Romulus, who,\u00a0according to legend, founded the city with his twin brother Remus, then murdered him after an argument.)<\/p>\n The newspaper also alleged in their report that Musk has used X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter that he bought in 2022, to try and find more women to have his babies.<\/p>\n In response to the report, published on Tuesday, April 15, Musk tweeted, \u201cTMZ >> WSJ.\u201d<\/p>\n A rep for Musk did not respond to PEOPLE\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n Elon Musk with son X \u00c6 A-12.Jeff Bottari\/Zuffa LLC<\/p>\n For years, Musk has spoken publicly about his fears that society will undergo an \u201cunderpopulation crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t emphasize this enough, there are not enough people,\u201d he said during a\u00a02021 event with the\u00a0Wall Street Journal.<\/em>\u00a0\u201cAnd I think one of the biggest risks to civilization is the low birth rate\u2026If people don\u2019t have more children, civilization is going to crumble.\u201d<\/p>\n After welcoming twins with Neuralink executive\u00a0Shivon Zilis, he seemingly alluded to the news on social media by writing, \u201cdoing my best to help the underpopulation crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis with their twins Strider and Azure.Shivon Zilis\/X<\/p>\n In February 2025, St. Clair posted an announcement to\u00a0X\u00a0saying that she and Musk welcomed a child together in September 2024.<\/p>\n According to the\u00a0WSJ\u2019<\/em>s report, the results of Musk\u2019s paternity test in their\u00a0custody case, determined his \u201cProbability of Paternity\u201d was 99.9999%. A spokesperson for St. Clair confirmed to PEOPLE\u00a0that a paternity test showed there is an almost 100% probability of paternity.<\/p>\n Musk first became a father in 2002 when ex-wife\u00a0Justine Wilson\u00a0welcomed their son Nevada Alexander, who died at 10 weeks old.
