The notion that there are only two genders\u2014male and female\u2014is one of the major\u00a0adjustments the measure introduces. Transgender women will no longer be held in female jails in light of this.<\/p>\n
The order will also impact the passports of non-binary individuals.<\/p>\n
The Biden Administration allowed those who wanted to list \u2018X\u2019 as their gender\u00a0on their passports to do so, and 1.2 million Americans identified as non-binary, according to a 2021 study.<\/p>\n
