huge fire broke out around 9:30 p.m. on Friday in the Marina Pinnacle, a 67-story residential skyscraper in Dubai Marina. The building houses 3,820 residents across 764 apartments. After six hours, Dubai Civil Defence teams managed to put out the blaze early Saturday morning.
Evacuation and Safety Measures
All residents were safely evacuated with no injuries reported. According to Dubai Media Office, “Ambulance teams and medical staff are on site to offer full medical and mental support to the safely evacuated residents.” Authorities and developers arranged temporary housing for those displaced, though residents don’t yet know when they can return.
Residents’ Experiences
Indian resident Prateek M, who lives on the 22nd floor with his wife and son, recalled, “Neighbours from the next building shouted and told me our tower was on fire.” He described escaping through heavy smoke, saying, “We had to hold on to the shoulders of the person in front of us.” Prateek hopes to return soon “to check for damage and to retrieve important documents,” but added, “We are safe, and that’s what matters.” Another resident, Raza, was away when the fire started and found the roads closed upon his return. He helped neighbors without phones get rides and said, “Right now, I am just waiting to know when we can go back and collect our things.”
